Cabo Verde
12 August 2025: Items sent to and from Cabo Verde may experience delays due to heavy rainfall, which has impacted postal operations and delivery services.

Democratic Republic of Congo
18 March 2025: Items sent to and from the Democratic Republic of Congo may experience significant delays as conflict in the region has severely disrupted postal operations and delivery services.

Madagascar
30 September 2025: Items sent to and from Madagascar may experience delays due to ongoing demonstrations across the country. 

Sudan
Australia Post has temporarily suspended all postal services to and from Sudan due to civil unrest.

There are no other current updates for Africa.

India
From May 2024, India customs has imposed a Know Your Customer (KYC) legal requirement, which mandates that government-recognised identity and address proof must be presented to customs during shipment clearance for items sent via International Courier to India. To avoid customs delays and for a smooth clearance process, ensure you inform your recipient to complete the KYC process with the customs authority. Nepal
15 September 2025: Items sent to and from Nepal may experience delays as Nepal Post works to return to full capacity following protests on 7-8 September which impacted postal operations and delivery services.

Philippines
10 October 2025: Items sent to and from the Philippines may experience delays, due to an earthquake affecting the Davao Region. Postal operations and delivery services may be impacted.

8 October 2025: Items sent to and from the Philippines may experience significant delays due to the severe weather conditions and ongoing impacts of Typhoon Opong, which made landfall on 25 September 2025. Postal operations and delivery services have been affected.

18 August 2025: Customers expecting to receive items from the Philippines may experience significant delays as the Philippine Postal Corporation is temporarily suspending the dispatch of all outbound international surface mail (via land and sea routes). Items sent via air will be dispatched as usual.

South Korea
29 September 2025: Items sent to and from South Korea may experience delays due to a fire at a major national server facility which has disrupted the entire Korea Post postal system. Tracking data and customer service from Korea Post may not be available while systems remain impacted.

23 June 2025: Items sent to and from South Korea may experience delays due to a scheduled system update that could impact postal operations and delivery services.

24 April 2025: Items sent to and from South Korea may experience delays due to policy decisions that will result in a postal delivery suspension within South Korea starting on 1 May 2025.

Thailand
25 July 2025: Items sent to and from Thailand, particularly in areas close to the border between Thailand and Cambodia, may experience delays due to the recent situation along the border. Postal operations and delivery services have been impacted, including temporary post office closures in affected areas.

There are no other current updates for Asia.

Belgium
9 October 2025: Items sent to and from Belgium may experience delays as a result of demonstrations across Belgium planned by its national trade unions starting on 14 October 2025. Postal operations and delivery services are expected to be impacted, with flights to and from Brussels airport to be cancelled on this date.

Greece
13 October 2025: Items sent to and from Greece may experience delays due to union strike action commencing on 14 October 2025, which may impact postal operations and delivery services.

Italy
23 July 2025: Items sent to and from Italy may experience delays due to planned union strikes commencing on 26 July, which may impact postal operations and delivery services.

7 July 2025: Items sent to and from Italy may experience delays due to planned union strikes commencing on 10 July, which may impact postal operations and delivery services.

30 June 2025: Items sent to and from Italy may experience significant delays due to IT issues at Italy Post and Italian Customs, which has impacted postal operations and delivery services.

26 March 2025: From 31 March to 30 October 2025, items sent to and from Italy, particularly the Sicily region, may be delayed due to airport closures in the evening, which may impact postal operations and delivery services.

Netherlands
19 June 2025: Items sent to and from the Netherlands may experience delays due to significant road disruptions that are expected in the Amsterdam–The Hague–Rotterdam area from 22 to 26 June while the NATO Summit is being hosted.

Norway
1 September 2025: Items sent to and from Norway may experience delays as a result of landslides near Levanger, which has impacted postal operations and delivery services.

Poland
25 September 2025: Items sent to and from Poland, particularly Warsaw, may experience delays due to airport and ground handling operational changes, which may impact postal operations and delivery services.

Portugal
27 August 2025: Items sent to and from Portugal may experience delays as a result of several planned union strikes taking place between September 2025 to early January 2026, which may impact postal operations and delivery services.

Russia
Australia Post has temporarily suspended all postal services to and from the Russian Federation.

The temporary suspension will remain in place until Australia Post can ensure compliance with all relevant sanctions requirements, and is subject to the availability of transport to and from Russia.

Slovakia
28 March 2025: Items sent to and from Slovakia may be delayed due to emergency measures for a recent outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease. This may impact postal operations and delivery services.

United Kingdom
18 August 2025: Due to an IT issue affecting scanning data, track events may not be available for items sent to the United Kingdom. Royal Mail has advised affected customers to use either Royal Mail or Parcelforce track-and-trace to track their items.

Ukraine
There may be delays to letters and parcels sent to and from the Ukraine due to:

• limited airline capacity
• some postcodes being currently inaccessible
• planned power outages

There are no other current updates for Europe.
 

Iran
14 October 2024: Due to limited flight capacity, there are temporary service suspensions in place for items sent to and from Iran. Service suspensions will remain in place until Australia Post can guarantee availability of transport to and from Iran, and is able to deliver items. Customers who have recently sent items to Iran may have their items returned. We apologise for any inconvenience and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Türkiye
19 June 2025: Items sent to and from Türkiye may experience delays due to airline disruptions, which may impact postal operations and delivery services.

There are no other current updates for the Middle East.

Canada
29 September 2025: Due to national union strike action commenced by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers on 25 September 2025 (Canada Eastern Time), Canada Post has advised all countries to temporarily stop sending items to Canada. 

As a result, Australia Post services to and from Canada are temporarily suspended as of Monday, 29 September 2025.

International items that were sent to Canada before Monday, 29 September 2025 and that have already arrived in Canada will be held securely by Canada Post until postal services resume. However, tracking information from Canada Post may not be available at this time.

International items bound for Canada and lodged with Australia Post on or before Monday, 29 September 2025 and that are still within the Australia Post network will be returned and eligible for postage refund.

Once services to Canada resume, Canada Post will process and deliver items as quickly as possible. However, customers should expect delays as Canada Post works to manage the volume and stabilise operations.

United States of America
7 October 2025: Postal services have resumed instore at Australia Post for all Retail and Business customers sending to the United States (US) and its Overseas Territories, including Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and the U.S. Minor Outlying Islands.

This applies to all items lodged in an Australia Post retail outlet, except for 'International Courier' branded services to the US which remain temporarily unavailable.

This follows a temporary suspension since Tuesday, 26 August 2025, caused by changes to customs and import tariff rules made by the US Government.

Australia Post is unable to confirm at this time when services will resume for 'International Courier' branded services to the US. We will continue to keep you informed as the situation develops. Thank you for your patience.

Peru
From May 2023, due to compliance issues with national legislation governing items into Peru, SERPOST is only accepting items transported by air. Sea Mail will be suspended until further notice.
