The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has indicated it won’t oppose Australia Post’s proposed price changes, including an increase to small letter postage from $1.70 to $1.85, as well as changes to regular large letter prices, delivered at the regular timetable, effective from mid-late 2026.
The ACCC has put its view to public consultation, giving businesses a chance to respond.
Consultation on the proposed price increases is open until 22 June 2026.
Australia Post is also planning changes to pricing across other domestic letter services. There will be no change to concession stamps, which will remain at $3 for a booklet of five, or to seasonal greeting card stamps, which will remain available at $0.65 each.
Effective Monday 2 February 2026, eligible customers can purchase up to 75 concession stamps per year, increased from the current limit of 50.
The table below shows the proposed pricing to apply from mid-late 2026 for domestic letters. Final prices and the effective date will be confirmed once the regulatory process is complete.

The annual fee for each Reply Paid number is $140.
